Pranayama Workshop

Breathing techniques to improve your well-being

Learning to breathe consciously and with awareness can be a valuable tool in helping to restore balance in the mind and body. Regular pranayama practice will alleviate dullness, fatigue, and calm down the anxious mind. "Prana" means vital force and "Ayama" is distribution of energy. Because of our stressful lifestyle, we don’t maintain proper breathing patterns in our life. Most of us only use 30 percent of our lung capacity. Conscious and rhythmic breathing is an excellent tool to stimulate the relaxation response which results in an overall sense of well-being.

Researchers have documented the benefits of a regular practice of deep breathing, which include reduced anxiety and depression, lower blood pressure, increased energy levels, muscle relaxation, and decreased feelings of stress.
