Yoga Techniques for Overcoming Anxiety

The Overcoming Anxiety Workshop will address topics such as what is anxiety, how do we recognize it, and how do we deal with it in our everyday lives.
You will also learn yoga techniques for overcoming anxiety. Yoga techniques taught in this workshop include the following:
- Yoga poses
- Breath work
- Mudras or hand gestures
- Positive affirmations
You will leave with a tool box of yoga techniques to manage your stress/anxiety. Plus, each participant will receive handouts with useful information.
No prior yoga experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

Yoga Teacher/Therapist and Master Reiki Practicioner
In 1995, Dhyana became a Reiki practitioner, and acquired the knowledge of the ancient therapeutic art of ‘hands on healing’. Since, Dhyana has completed various certifications in yoga. In 2006, she became a Registered Yoga Teacher. She is also certified in Children’s Yoga, Yoga for the Special Child, Restorative Yoga, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher and Silver Age Yoga for seniors. She recently completed her 800 Hours with Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT). Dhyana’s continued yoga studies supports her belief that yoga is for everyone bringing a sense of harmony, peace and compassion to one’s life journey.
Born in Bogota’, Colombia, Dhyana spent most of her youth in the Washington, DC area before moving to Africa where she raised her family and earned a BS in sociology. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Creole and is a creative expression of all three cultures.
