The energy in Sedona is magnificent, and makes it a wonderful place for a yoga retreat.
We have two wonderful instructors who will draw on their many years of experience to teach at the retreat. Marion Jackson will be the lead yoga instructor, and Dr. Christine E. Kiesinger will share her expertise on Health & Wellness topics. Read more about the instructors below...
Marion Jackson (Mahima) is a lifelong student of movement. After 18 years of dance training, she began her yoga practice in 2000 and has been teaching since her 200 hour certification at Integral Yoga NYC in 2005. Additionally, she completed Vinyasa training with Shiva Rea in 2008 and the 300 hour Jivamukti teacher training in 2015. Marion has worked with students of ages 6 to 92, beginner to advanced.
Mahima is grateful to Ananda Ashram, a yoga retreat and spiritual center where she lived for 3 years and where she continues to teach and study. She draws great inspiration from her Sanskrit studies and Vedantic philosophy. Also a sound healer, Mahima has studied Tibetan Singing bowl therapy and Chakra Balancing in Nepal. Her carefully sequenced vinyasa classes focus on organically aligned movement, integrated breath, energetic connection, sound and mantra. Expect a peaceful, nurturing, and accepting space in Mahima's class. Your session will be tailored to your individual needs, regardless of age or experience level.
Dr. Christine E. Kiesinger has been teaching yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices for over twenty years. She holds a doctorate in Communication Studies with expertise in the areas of Interpersonal and Family communication studies. Christine is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher, Certified Reiki Master Teacher, aromatherapy specialist and a highly sought after personal and professional development coach. A master integrative wellness practitioner/educator, she has lectured extensively around the country sharing her unique, multidisciplinary approach to optimal health and wellbeing.
Christine's teachings are "experiential journeys" that open pathways to peace and healing at the deepest levels. Her teaching style is eclectic in nature, yet rooted in both tried and true methods and innovative theory. She pulls from a variety of disciplines to create truly transformational experiences--lessons that linger long after her students leave her sessions.
